  • Legal Awareness Programme

    Legal Awareness Programme was organized by the Ujjaval Women's Association (UWA) on12th December, 1996 at Vivekanand Sadan, Nirman Vihar, Delhi. Smt. Kamla Mankekar, Chairperson, Delhi Commission for Women was theChief Guest. Smt. Mamta Sehgal, Metropolitan Magistrate, heading theFree Legal Aid Cell spoke on marital rights of women and "Stree Dhan".Smt. Bulbus Dass, Advocate spoke on property rights. It was attended by a large number of women.

  • Workshop on Air Pollution in Delhi

    Delhi has become one of the most polluted cities in the world and isthe most polluted city in India. Considering the serious effect of air pollution on the health of the citizens of Delhi, Women'sAssociation for Development Alternatives (WADA) organized a workshopunder the guidance of Delhi Commission for Women on "Air Pollution inDelhi" Smt. Bina Singh, Secretary General, WADA, was theconvener.

  • Women's Day - 1997

    Delhi Commission for Women's celebration of Women's Day in 1997 focused on the girl child. The function, presided over by the Chief Minister, Sh. Sahib Singh Verma, was held at "Dilli Haat". The Chief Minister released DCW' report, "Status of Girls and Women in Delhi" on the occasion.
    Smt. Kamla Mankekar presented a bouquet to Hon'ble Chief Minister, Sh. Sahib Singh Verma Students of Bharatiya Mahila College staged a play, "Manvi", written by Smt. Mridula Sinha.
