  • International Women's Day

    Delhi Commission for Women celebrated the International Women's Day on 8th March, 2001 by organizing a massive programme at Talkatora Gardens, New Delhi. The Commission collaborated with New Delhi Municipal Council, NORAD, SDA and NGOs to make it a success and provided a common platform to women's organizations in Delhi. Around 10,000 women participated in the programme which included an exhibition and food stalls, cultural programmes, poster competition, etc. 82 stalls were erected at the venue for the NGOs for exhibition of traditional items, food stalls, etc.

  • Workshop on Legal Awareness\

    Workshop on Legal Awareness & Mahila Panchayats & A Delhi Safe for Women
    Delhi Commission for Women organized 2-day workshop with NGOs held on 2nd-3rd August, 2000 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The Commission had explored the feasibility of collaboration with NGOs for preventing crimes against women and taking pilot initiatives for economic empowerment of women.

  • Launch of Mahila Panchayat & Legal Awareness Programme\

    Delhi Commission for Women launched a Mahila Panchayat and Legal Awareness Programmes on 18th January, 2001 by the Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi at Azad Bhawan, I. P. Estate, New Delhi. Commemoration of completion of one year of reconstituted Commission was inaugurated by the Lt. Governor of Delhi at the same venue.

  • Workshop on Gender Sensitization

    Delhi Commission for Women held a workshop on "Gender Sensitization" on 4th June, 2001 at Delhi Secretariat, New Delhi to discuss the concept of establishment of Gender Resources Centres (GRC) in Delhi. Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Sheila Dikshit was the Chief Guest during the function. Shri Arvind Kumar, ex-Municipal Commissioner, Vijayawada gave a presentation of the gender resource centres functioning in Vijayawada.
